Dream-Else Journeys

Travel Advisory
Dream-Else

During a 7 day stay in the Marsala-Stagnone Lagoon region, you can expect a soulful blend of eco-exploration, salt-inspired wellness, and cultural immersion - a journey that restores both body and spirit. Rooted in ancient traditions and surrounded by wind, water, and light, the landscape itself invites you to slow down and reconnect with the rhythms of nature and the places visited.

The Marsala salt wetlands, known as the Saline dello Stagnone, trace their origins back to Phoenician times, when settlers began harnessing Sicily’s sun and wind to extract salt from seawater.

Expanded by the Romans and perfected during the Arab and Spanish rule, these salt pans became vital to Mediterranean trade. Over centuries, a delicate balance of human craft and natural forces shaped a unique landscape of mirror-like pools, windmills, and salt pans

Today, the wetlands are not only a living testimony to ancient salt-making traditions but also a protected ecosystem, supporting migratory birds like flamingos and serving as a model for ecological regeneration and cultural preservation.
